More early Cherilea plastics

I haven’t posted for a while, so here is the first of a few new ones. I have already posted about the first version multipart cherilea spacemen and a later version boxed set. Here are more of my favourites. Cherilea issued a number of great sets in the late 1950s – early 1960s and I remember being bought a few figures as a child – so real nostalgia for me. They were either sold in boxes of four figures or separately from a counter box or loose; en-mass, as were Marx figures Woolworths. On the right is a typical box; this one with four of the superb Ancient Egyptians. These boxes were usually had four of the six different figures in any of the ranges. The same box design was used for all ranges. The Egyptian range is actually two separate ranges, six Egyptians; including Cleopatra lounging of a couch and six Nubians. She could be included in the boxed sets of either range. I will be including images of more Egyptians and Nubians when I can find where I have them in storage.

Meanwhile, I am adding an image of another ranges in this series. These are Culloden era Highlanders. As you can see the factory paint didn’t adhere well. They are all about 60mm tall. This post is ongoing, so as soon as I dig out more figures I will add them, so come back again to this in a month or so.
