Another Scythian Amazon Raider

Above is the finished new Amazon warrrior, with the sequence of scratchbuilding it.

I cut, sliced and re-jigged the basic figure to the position I wanted her sitting on the horse. Now it’s ready to add the clothing, weapons etc. The horse isn’t scratchbuilt, it’s a resin commercial model to which I’ve added suitable horse furniture, harness and other accessories, I always start with the horse so that the figure can be made to fit then I paint it to set the mood of the final presentation.

Update on the Amazon above. Starting working on her again, I often work on projects over many months; both writing and modelling. She has her armour and is permanently seated ready to clothe her legs, also her headgear, probably a scythian style helmet.

Next update. I’ve added the rest of her body and head wear. Still quite rough but will soon be sanded and finished. The horse will need some unavoidable repainting, I painted it to give some realism to the warrior build. The bowcase is removeable. I’m not sure where to put her shield, but she will have a javelin/spear in her right hand and an axe somewhere.

So now she has been almost finished and the first coats of paint added, no detail yet. I am making the shield that will be on her back and the scythian hand axe and sword. Her bowcase will be against her left leg and other baggage strapped where the bowcase was.
