Sanquez, Rose, catch up.

I haven’t posted much lately, as well as being an avid figure collector I am an author and have been very busy this year getting the first book in my Trilogy ‘The Land’ ready for publication. It’s out in September. Then early next year I will have to begin the publishing of book two but for now can relax a bit and do a bit of toy soldier therapy.

I have been steadily increasing my Rose Miniatures ancient Egypt collection. If you go to that post I have added a few more images. Here is one of the Nubians I am currently painting, he is a leader of archers and I will add to that post the full contingent when they are all finished.

So I have now added an image of the finished Nubian, click once to enlarge.

I have also adding a few images from my Sanquez collection to the Sanquez post. Here are some standard bearers, both from the Spanish Imperial army of Charles V.

These Sanquez figures are getting very difficult to find. approx 50mm high and made of soft lead, they are quite fragile. In concept they are similar to Ping figures; all elements are lead and soldered on. Even the flags are cast lead – see my earlier Sanquez post for more images
