If you’ve read my posts you will know that although my collecting is eclectic, there are some themes that I like a lot. One of these is Dan Dare, the scifi hero of Eagle comics of the 1950’s and 60’s. particularly the Rogue Planet story. Look it up, a great story with wonderful illustrations and a classic alien race; the Phants. Some years back Unicorn Miniatures made a great set of figures depicting many Dan Dare figures, particularly the Phants. You can still get them now and again on Ebay. Here are the Phants and with them a fantastic model of a Phant war machine. This was one of a series of space models made to order in the 1980’s from Indonesia. Made of wood it’s a spectacular model and compliments the figures, although to scale it would be even larger.
