Heyde AWI british bivouac scene (2)

Here is part 2 of the Heyde AWI bivouac scene; the larger vignettes. I believe they also produced this set with American regular infantry in blue uniforms. This British one has a mixture of grenadiers and line infantry and a good sprinkling of officers, all going about mundane camp duties. Heyde produced many accessories including different trees, campfires, picket rails for horses, wells, bushes, gates and many more; all were used to enhance different boxed sets. I don’t mind taking a few liberties and adding whatever I can find (always Heyde though) to contribute to my little diorama. I have often been tempted to collect another of the Heyde ranges, they made so many wonderful ones, but I try to keep to one theme from the larger toy soldier makers; it’s hard to limit an obsession, and there’s a thin line between collecting and hoarding.

The photo above shows them all together. My next post will be on a subject very dear to my collecting heart; Polish PRL plastic figures: the WW2 Warsaw Uprising set.
